Step Back in Time Challenge Professional Review and Guide
"Recapture those memories of visiting grandma on the farm, and step back to a time when life was much simpler. This challenge leaves from a river town named in honor of Ulysses S. Grant, at a location where Snow Flake Flour was once milled. As you ride north, you follow a trail of golden geese up through the Crex Meadows State Wildlife Area, where you discover what the area looked like when the pioneers first laid eyes on this land.
Now, as you make your way east, the route takes you up to Balcome Bridge and crosses over the Clam Lake Flowage. You then turn southeast and discover a French fort on the Yellow River where you are greeted with a sign that says BOOZ HOO. After riding around a lake with the same name as the river, step back fifty years and visit a town with the 1950s Americana look. Turning to the southwest, enjoy an ice-cream cone in a village named after a cream separator. As you come full circle, you pass Crex Meadows one more time before the golden geese guide you back to Grantsburg."
