Great Divide Highway

Great Divide Highway Professional Review and Guide

"A 29-mile paved highway through forests and rolling hills, past lakes, streams, and marshes. Located in the middle of the Chequamegon National Forest, the Great Divide Highway travels an obscure line that separates water flowing north to Lake Superior from water flowing south to the Gulf of Mexico.

The two-lane paved road underwent extensive reconstruction in 1989. Traffic is light, allowing travelers a chance to enjoy the scenery of Wisconsin’s northern lakes and timber country. Special attractions: Outstanding fishing in several lakes and streams, hunting, colorful foliage, historic logging-camp sites, and abundant wildlife."
