Known mostly by avid local paddlers, the narrow Badfish Creek is quite an alternative to the much wider and flatter rivers in the Madison area. It winds, it twists, and it might require some serious deadfall navigation. But it is delightfully playful and quick and has some of the clearest water you’ll see—despite its origins. It passes under numerous bridges, offers only brief views of minimal development, and ends at a bridge on a country road, about 1.7 miles upstream from its juncture with the Yahara River.
