Kettle Moraine State Forest—Northern Unit Tamarack Circle Hiking Trail

Kettle Moraine State Forest—Northern Unit: Tamarack Circle Hiking Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"A simple circle trail around Mauthe Lake includes two bridges over the East Branch of the Milwaukee River, which flows through the lake.

Along the way is a mix of different kinds of forest, including some white cedars and tamaracks, that offers a nice habitat for birds. Unlike many other Kettle Moraine hikes, this one is quite flat. The last stretch of the trail passes through a developed park, including a playground and a swimming area."
