Rock Lake 16K Trail

Rock Lake 16K Trail Professional Review and Guide

"The Rock Lake trails are perennial favorites with visitors and local skiers alike. Two decades ago, the National Forest Service chose the scenic, rugged Rock Lake area for its first ski trail in the Chequamegon National Forest.

Today the trails retain nearly all of their original character. This is single track, classic cross-country skiing the way it used to be. The trails haven’t been widened to accommodate skating or a second track, which makes for an intimate ski experience. Having the trees so close also gives the illusion of greater speed. Surface quality: Groomed weekly, single tracked. Fees: yes."
