Blue Hills Ascent Professional Review and Guide
"Traveling along Highway 8 can be deceiving. The highway appears virtually flat, surrounded by a swampy lowland in many areas, with little variation in elevation as it cuts across the central area of northern Wisconsin, yet just to the north and south of the highway are some impressive hills that offer incredible views of the surrounding countryside. Nowhere is this more evident than in the Blue Hills north and west and Bruce.
Even this bike ride is deceiving. Granted, you gain a fair amount of elevation, but the grades are not as gruelingly steep as in the Driftless area of southern Wisconsin. You will climb on this ride, but it's broken by long, relatively flat stretches, some wonderful downhills, and some rolling terrain. Things to see: Incredible sweeping panoramic views of an ancient mountain range."
