Yellowstone Lake State Park

Yellowstone Lake State Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Wildlife Loop on a dike into the lake is brimming with activity, but the prairie and oak savanna loops over rolling hills and the paths through the woods are every bit as enjoyable.

This state park offers a lot of route options. The route mapped here ties most of the trails together for one long hike. Pass the pavilion and start up the trail into the woods. This heads 0.3 mile to a trail juncture. The 1.3-mile Oak Ridge Trail lies straight ahead; the 0.8-mile Prairie Loop is to the right. There’s a map board here as well as a bench. Go straight 200 feet for the easiest of the trails. Here you find another map board and a fork in the trail. Go straight into the prairie as the trail follows along the right edge."
