A lovely Ice Age Trail segment, Montrose passes along sandstone outcrops along a long ridge, rising to a beautiful bluff-top overlook and ending with a turn around prairie restoration before coming back the way you came. From the segment that passes along the rail-to-trail Badger State Trail, the Ice Age Trail heads east to hit Piller Road before coming south to the trailhead here. Before being developed, the southern portion of this trail was merely the end loop of the Brooklyn Wildlife Segment, which, at the time, still needed to be connected to the larger trail. Start your hike here from the lot by heading south along the edge of farmland.
