Yelm-Tenino Trail

Yelm-Tenino Trail Professional Review and Guide

"Just a few years ago, Olympia-area cyclists were offered the choice of roads or more roads for their touring pleasure. Not that there’s anything wrong with that—the country lanes around our capitol city are as inviting and uncrowded as you’re likely to find within an hour or so of Seattle. But then the upside-down T was created.

The bottom half of the grand off-road route through Thurston County is the Yelm-Tenino Trail, which traverses the eastern half of the county and runs through three small towns: Yelm, Rainier, and Tenino. It’s an eminently useful and very pleasant amenity."

Beautiful trail with sun, shade, trees, rivers, beavers, deer, great scenery. Easy for beginning riders since it is an old railroad trail with minimal grade. I'm new to biking since April but have progressed to 30 mile day rides and passed 500 miles riden.

great trail for biking...fairly flat, open, crossed roads occasionally but very little traffic...only saw a few other people, mostly near either end of the trail...will definately do again.
