Tieton Nature Trail

Tieton Nature Trail Professional Review and Guide

"Hike along the Tieton River through an area that is recovering from a fire, watching for wildlife as you go. This trail is open to mountain bikes as well as hikers. Many Rocky Mountain elk inhabit this area in the winter.

The canyon bottom along this trail, as well as the slopes above it, burned in mid-August 2002. Some of the trees survived, and the grass and bushes will recover soon. In many cases the grass and flowers come back better after a fire than they were before."
