Silver Star via North Ridge

Silver Star via North Ridge Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The shortest and most popular route to Silver Star’s stellar summit, this loop uses one of the mountain’s old jeep roads (since converted to trail) and its newest trail (part of the long-distance Chinook Trail). Starting high, almost immediately saunter across sprawling flower gardens set against a backdrop of snowy showy volcanoes. En route, pass through a rock arch and a landscape that looks straight out of the Southwest—except for all of the greenery!"

"Named for its starlike radiating ridges, 4390-foot Silver Star Mountain is the centerpiece of a 10,000-plus-acre roadless area managed by Gifford Pinchot National Forest and Washington Department of Natural Resources. The four-volcano view from Silver Star is stellar. So too is the view over the Columbia River to Portland." Read more
