Tiffany Mountain and Lake Trail

Tiffany Mountain and Lake Trail Professional Review and Guide

"This hike is not the shortest nor the easiest route to Tiffany Mountain. Most hikers who head for the queen of the Okanogan Highlands opt for the much shorter Freezeout Ridge Trail. But what’s the rush? By heading to the lofty summit of Tiffany via Tiffany Lake, you’ll get to enjoy not only the broad open summit of the mountain, but also a lovely alpine lake and miles of lightly trampled trail.

You and your dog will get to romp on the shores of a pristine body of water, traverse lush forests, savor the floral aroma of alpine meadows, and soak up plenty of rays and views from a summit more than 8000 feet high. Because Tiffany sits on the extreme eastern edge of the Cascades, expect plenty of sunshine. However, when the Okanogan Valley begins to swelter and a front moves in, be prepared for an occasional thunderstorm. A sudden boom can produce a whimper—and your dog doesn’t much appreciate thunder either."
