Mount Buckner North Face

Mount Buckner: North Face Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Mount Buckner North Face ski descent holds just about every element that makes ski mountaineering in the North Cascades an unforgettable experience. This tour should not be your first foray into the park even if you are fit and a very strong skier; you should have prior ski mountaineering experience.

This route involves steep ascents, route-finding challenges, glacier travel, a short but exposed ridge, and an intimidating 50-degree headwall; it also rewards you with unforgettable scenery in the middle of the wild North Cascades. It is crucial to get to this point early in the day, since avalanches regularly flush the Midas Creek drainage."
