Cascade-Johannesburg Couloir Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Access to big, steep terrain does not get any more straightforward than this. The iconic Cascade–Johannesburg Couloir catches the eye of any skier who visits the Cascade Pass area, and for good reason—3000 feet of fall line on a huge Cascades north face.
Waiting for good conditions is essential here—huge walls overhang the route on either side, and the hazards of rockfall, icefall, and avalanches cannot be overstated. Once you are in the couloir, the exposure is relentless."
