Black Peak South Face and Last Chance Pass

Black Peak: South Face and Last Chance Pass Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Black Peak is an impressive pyramid of dark rock with signi?cant vertical relief high above Rainy Pass. It offers classic ski mountaineering requiring careful hazard evaluation, and alpine climbing skills to reach an airy summit.

Although often climbed in two days as a moderate alpine climb from the highway in summer, skis can make this a reasonable day tour for a ?t party in good conditions. Extend the tour with a long descent into Woody Creek and up through Last Chance Pass to enjoy trail-less areas seldom visited after the snow melts."
