Spray Park Trail

Spray Park Trail Professional Review and Guide

"A short, but steep hike takes you through beautiful forest and to a subalpine meadow dotted with colorful wildflowers. The open meadows of Spray Park provide spectacular views of Mount Rainier and Mother Mountain.

The Spray Park Trail is very popular due to the amazing views of Mount Rainier available from Spray Park.Views of Mother Mountain, Mount Pleasant, and Hessong Rock also bedazzle you, while hoary marmots and lupine fill the rocky meadows of Spray Park. The first 1.9 miles of the trail dip and climb over rolling hills; the trail then heads uphill all the way to the end of Spray Park.

Head to the south end of the Mowich Lake parking lot, past the restrooms and campground to the trailhead. Head south on the Wonderland Trail and travel downhill for 0.2 mile to the first junction. Go left (southeast) where the Spray Park Trail forks off from the Wonderland Trail. A short spur trail about a mile from the junction leads to a viewpoint over Eagle Cliff, a total of 1.5 miles into your hike. You can see the North Mowich Glacier clearly from the viewpoint."
