Ginkgo Petrified Forest State Park

Ginkgo Petrified Forest State Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"One of the primary attractions of this park is a petrified forest—the remains of trees that grew here as long as twenty-five million years ago.

The site actually encompasses Wanapum State Recreation Area, where the campsites are located, and Ginkgo State Park, which is 7 miles to the north. A 1-mile interpretive trail and 3 miles of hiking trails meander through the area. The park is heavily used during Gorge concert season. Facilities fill early on weekends."
