Twisp River Trail

Twisp River Trail Professional Review and Guide

"The first half of this moderately difficult 13-mile loop is on a good singletrack trail. The remainder is on well-maintained paved and gravel roads. Although the river is often audible from the trail, views of the water are rare. Clearings offer excellent vistas to Reynolds Peak in the lake Chelan-Sawtooth wilderness. Open, sunny areas are jammed with wildflowers in the spring and summer.

The Twisp River Trail #440 maintains a rather consistent elevation along its course. The pedaling is still demanding, however. The trail parallels the river on a forested hillside. There are no mountains to climb, but there are still plenty of ups and downs. Exposed roots, rocks, scree slopes, narrow sections, steep drop-offs, and creek crossings are encountered along the way. Abundant wildflowers in the late spring and summer."
