Sunrise Camp Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Sunrise Camp, as the name suggests, is an excellent place to watch a sunrise, but there is much more to recommend this trip than just the fine early-morning show. Located high above timberline on the east slopes of Mt. Adams in the Yakama Indian Reservation, the camp is also a great place to observe mountain goats, take in extensive views, get up-close-and-personal with a glacier, and fill your lungs with clear mountain air. The hike, however, is not for everyone, as the upper part of the route involves boulder-hopping and off-trail scrambling. At least one member of the party should be familiar with crosscountry travel. The camp is also very exposed, so bring a sturdy tent and do not attempt this hike in bad weather."
