Service Trail/Surprise Lakes

Service Trail/Surprise Lakes Professional Review and Guide

"A great way to start your day at Mount Adams is the Service Trail near Surprise Lakes that offers a wonderful singletrack trip in a relatively short amount of time. There is a mellow road climb along fragrant berry fields and a winding trail around a couple of lakes before the singletrack races down into the woods on a very dusty trail frequently shared with motorcyclists.

This trail doesn’t gain much elevation, but it climbs in and out of creek drainages, which is almost more tiring because there are few sections of straightaway. It’s a quick trip, though, and it makes an invigorating prelude to your day at Mount Adams."
