Horseshoe Meadow and Crystal Lake Professional Review and Guide
"Although the Pacific Northwest has thousands of miles of trails leading to impressive and worthwhile locations, often the best and most beautiful spots are hidden just off the maintained paths. One such gem is Crystal Lake, on the southwest side of Mt. Adams. Although little more than a pond, the lake is perfectly situated to provide drop-dead gorgeous views of its neighboring glacier-clad peak. But since this lake is not on an established trail, relatively few hikers make the detour to find and enjoy this spot. An alternate destination for hikers with a little less time and energy is Horseshoe Meadow, which also features a tremendous view of the mountain and has better displays of wildflowers."
