Starting close to the Little Spokane River, hike up a lush valley. Then climb over the top of a ridge with great views and descend back down to the Little Spokane River. Head upstream along the meandering waterway back to the trailhead. Most of this trail is hikers only; no dogs, bikes, or camping. Watch for moose along this route. For safety, view moose from a distance and don’t challenge them in any way. At times of high water, the Indian Painted Rocks Trail section of this loop may be temporarily flooded and closed.
