Rocks of Sharon

Rocks of Sharon Professional Review and Guide

"All the ultrarunners I’ve met from the Spokane area use this trail frequently for training. It has some great steep climbs, incredible rugged beauty with large rock outcroppings, and “top-of-the-world” views encompassing Steptoe Butte, Mount Spokane, and beyond.

These trails are not marked, so bring your topographical map and compass if you’re not running with someone who knows the trails. The wildlife listed in Dishman Hills also can be seen on this route, which is just south of the Dishman Hills Natural Resources Conservation Area."

Rocks of Sharon was fantastic. The map didn't help much in navigating the trail as there are a lot of turns and options to make after the Rocks. We did some serious backtracking to get back to what we thought was a trail but turned out to be more of a spring run-off that was partially dry. Regardless, fantastic beautiful hike filled with wildlife, wildflowers views galore and some fun scrambling rocks. Recommendation: Bring a topo map and a compass!
