Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The northern portion of Kachess Ridge is very lightly traveled, and what lovelier way to do one of the best early summer wild?ower hikes to Thorp Mountain than to come in through the “back door”? Before leaving on your adventure, pause and enjoy the stunning views from the trailhead!

To start your hike, follow the trail (old roadbed) as it climbs across the center of a clear-cut area, and at 0.15 mile enter the old forest to the south. You’ll start to gradually climb here, slowly warming your muscles as you go gently up the ridge before you."
