44-Mile Loop

4.4-Mile Loop Professional Review and Guide

"Start on the Mainline Trail heading south turning at the first fork to the left on the Woodland Plateau Trail. After less than 1 mile, head east on the Southern Traverse Trail. Just beyond 2 miles and a short stint on the
Mainline Trail to the Two Trees Trail. Reach the Ephemeral Trail at about the 2¼-mile point and continue to the Red Alder Trail. At roughly
3.5 miles, it’s back on the Mainline Trail for a short segment to the Cascara Trail leading back to the Whispering Firs Trail and the parking lot start point.

This perimeter loop provides a wonderful overview of the park environs. The route is on singletrack trail, most of which is forested, with a fair amount of twists and turns and roots and rocks. The trail signage is very good, but carrying a map will assist in navigation at junctions to ensure you stay on our intended route."
