Lake Janus Trail

Lake Janus Trail Professional Review and Guide

"The Roman god Janus had two faces so he could see in two directions at once. A traveler on this trail through the Henry M. Jackson Wilderness can look toward both eastern and western Washington while walking the ridge that separates them—the Cascade Crest.

Lake Janus, a beauty, is set among alpine meadows at the base of 6,007-foot Jove Peak. Adults will enjoy the scenery along the way; children can play in the lake. The trail has some steep portions but is smooth and well maintained. Note that there is a 700-foot descent; it must be climbed on the return."
