Cowboy Mountain

Cowboy Mountain Professional Review and Guide

"This tour is accessible for snowboarders and anybody with alpine ski equipment: simply ride the lifts to the top of the Seventh Heaven chair, and ski the “backside” of Cowboy Mountain. While navigation is not a problem on this tour, avalanche potential is—parties must be equipped to effect self-rescue. Check at the Stevens Pass avalanche control center for snow and avalanche conditions, and follow their recommendations.

This tour is only worthwhile with a good snowpack. Extremely dense timber, exposed stumps and brush can make the route a horror show in low-snowpack years. Difficulties: Moderate avalanche potential; chair ride to top."
