Indian Creek Trail 1105

Indian Creek Trail 1105 Professional Review and Guide

"Hike completely across the southern part of the William O. Douglas Wilderness on a generally well-maintained route.

Heading northwest from the trailhead, the Indian Creek Trail passes through a semi-open forest of ponderosa pine and fir atop the alluvial debris along the bottom of Indian Creek Canyon. The course, which is a long-abandoned roadbed that allowed access to the Indian Creek Mine, climbs very gently."

We only went in about 2.75 miles to a point where the trail crosses the creek. There was a campsite just across the water. Set up there was easy and comfortable, lots of water for camp. The elevation gain from the trailhead was about a thousand feet. Steady climb but manageable of course. I would rate it moderate. A few flies and mosquitoes but very tolerable with a bit of deet. This is a nice hike for a quick overnighter,
