We only went in about 2.75 miles to a point where the trail crosses the creek. There was a campsite just across the water. Set up there was easy and comfortable, lots of water for camp.
The elevation gain from the trailhead was about a thousand feet. Steady climb but manageable of course. I would rate it moderate.
A few flies and mosquitoes but very tolerable with a bit of deet.
This is a nice hike for a quick overnighter,
