Slab Camp Creek and Upper Gray Wolf River

Slab Camp Creek and Upper Gray Wolf River Professional Review and Guide

"An upside-down trail, start by hiking downhill and get your workout on the return. Descend more than 1000 feet through rhododendrons and ancient forest to the Gray Wolf River. Relax by the churning river—or venture farther up the wilderness valley savoring solitude.

From a 2550-foot saddle between Deer Ridge and Ned Hill, bear left onto Slab Camp Creek Trail No. 838 and begin a well-graded descent into the Gray Wolf River valley. A mosquito-breeding marsh at the trailhead may have you picking up the pace before you’re warmed up."
