Ned Hill

Ned Hill Professional Review and Guide

"This is a short but steep trip to a historical fire lookout on the edge of the Buckhorn Wilderness, and the views are grown-in. So why go? Solitude, for one. And in early summer, an unbroken tunnel of showy rhododendrons splashes the hillside purple and pink.

From its unimposing start, Ned Hill Trail No. 837 takes off on a steep climb through a jungle of rhododendrons, salal, and Oregon grape. This no-nonsense trail was built in the 1930s to service a makeshift fire lookout after much of the area went up in smoke a few years prior."
