Sunrise to Fryinpan Creek/Summerland Trailhead Professional Review and Guide
"From a scenery perspective, this short section’s highlights are all packed into the first mile as you travel through the famous meadows near Sunrise. The views from here across the deep chasm of the White River and up to Mount Rainier are, along with those from Paradise on the south side of the peak, the most famous views of the mountain. It’s truly a photographer’s paradise as Rainier displays all of its glory in a massive display of towering height, plunging glaciers, and general mountain grandeur. After leaving the Sunrise area, the trail plunges down a wooded hillside to White River Campground and then parallels roads for 2.4 miles to the popular trailhead at Fryingpan Creek."
