Gorge Creek Falls Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Gorge Creek Falls, dropping 242 feet over five distinct sections, is not only one of the most dramatic waterfalls in the North Cascades but also one of the easiest to see, given its location right near a bridge along WA 20 spanning its eponymous gorge.
Park at the Gorge Creek Overlook parking area on the south side of WA 20 east of Newhalem, then cross WA 20 via the crosswalk—be careful as cars come fast in both directions and aren’t necessarily on the lookout for pedestrians. Once on the north side of WA 20, proceed east to the pedestrian walkway along the automobile bridge over Gorge Creek, and look left (north) to see Gorge Creek Falls in all of its five-tiered, 242-foot glory as it thunders down sheer granite cliff faces and past rocks the size of school buses."
