Foster Island and the Arboretum

Foster Island and the Arboretum Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The City of Seattle and the University of Washington (UW) jointly run the Washington Park Arboretum, a 230-acre plant museum disguised as a nature corridor and a popular get-awayfrom-it-all spot. You don’t need to be a scholar of plant science to enjoy it; you just need a curious mind and an attentive eye.

This route takes you into the arboretum via a unique walk along the water, through a pair of artificial islets. At the heart of your walk are two beautifully meditative areas, an elaborate Japanese garden and an open meadow honoring the Pacific Rim’s diverse flora."
