Mount Muller

Mount Muller Professional Review and Guide

"A 12.9-mile day hike or backpack loop over Mount Muller. This relatively new trail forms a 12.9-mile loop, visiting a long stretch of subalpine meadows atop Mount Muller. The mountain’s relatively low elevation (3,748 feet) and proximity to the Strait of Juan de Fuca combine to melt winter snows early.

As a result, this trail offers excursions into the high country at a time when trails in the interior of the Olympics are still snowbound. Outstanding wildflower displays and splendid views of Mount Olympus and the Sol Duc Valley make this trail a fine complement to the existing trail system. Hikers desiring a shorter trip can make a one-way 2.9-mile jaunt to the summit from an alternate trailhead on FR 3040. The trail begins beside Littleton Creek and immediately offers a choice of directions for hiking the loop."

Great trail, well marked. Rainy when I went, so veiws were not there. No one else on the trail. One of the few in the area that you can hike with your dog.
