West Fork of the Teanaway

West Fork of the Teanaway Professional Review and Guide

"In the same neighborhood as the Jolly Mountain ride, this route along the West Fork of the Teanaway River has something a little different going for it: water. There are about a dozen creek crossings to contend with on this advanced ride, each a refreshing break on really hot days.

The first third of the route begins with a road climb before hitting the trail. The trail ride down to the river is steep, narrow, and challenging. Following along the river, the singletrack passes a canyon filled with cool, inviting pools of water. Then the singletrack turns back onto a forest road about 9 miles southeast of the start. As a shuttle or a round-trip, this is a ride you’ll definitely want to try."

Snow level at 5,000 feet. Trail is nice, lots of river crossings...so be ready to get wet! Hoping to connect this ride with Sasse ridge sometime this summer.
