Hex Mountain Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Start hiking through an old logged area still dotted here and there with massive old-growth trees (left as bird habitat?). This old selective cut today stands as a wild?ower bonanza,
with arrowleaf balsamroot providing the ?rst color of spring, followed quickly by lupine, paintbrush, and other colorful blooms. Western tanagers ?it through the trees, and hummingbirds thrive among the ?owers.
Farther up the route, the trail enters the trees and pops out on a serpentine rock ridge leading to the Hex Mountain
summit just off the Sasse Ridge Trail. Be aware that this is motorcycle country, so don’t be surprised if you encounter some noisy company on summer weekends."
