Mt. Formidable Professional Review and Guide

"Mt. Formidable’s name comes from Hermann Ulrichs, an early mountaineer who in 1934 scouted the climb of the mountain and described its fearsome north slope. Notwithstanding, Mt. Formidable is less memorable than many of the well-known peaks in the Cascade Pass region, despite its status as one of the local titans. Although there are several northern routes to the summit that require ice-climbing skills, the easiest way up, on the South Face, can be accomplished by a basic-level climber (see definition on page 3)."
