Mount Prophet

Mount Prophet Professional Review and Guide

"Named for a religiously fanatic prospector who lived nearby, Mount Prophet is remote and deep in North Cascades National Park. The peak is in the middle of a triangle formed by the valleys of Little Beaver Creek on the north and Big Beaver Creek on the south, and by Ross Lake on the east.

From the base to the top, Mount Prophet rises over 4000 feet, making it one of the most prominent peaks in Washington. The exact elevation of the summit is difficult to pin down, as neither the USGS nor the Green Trails map gives a number. Stephen Mather Wilderness regulations apply. Backcountry permit required for all overnight stays in North Cascades National Park. Permits are limited; no reservations."
