Blue Lake Hikers Trail

Blue Lake Hikers Trail Professional Review and Guide

"Hike a short but demanding trail through pristine woods and a rugged canyon to a large lake nestled in a forested basin. Blue Lake Hikers Trail was built in the early 1990s to allow hikers to reach Blue Lake without having to share a trail with off-road vehicles.

The steps and other obstacles were probably deliberately built in to discourage this illegal use. Blue Lake makes a great place to camp, fish, and explore the surrounding area, if you don’t mind the noise of an occasional motorbike or ATV."

Beautiful trail that is very well maintained. Anyone camping at the first spot when you get to the river should be prepared to shoot the breeze with some of the ATV crowd walking down to check out the lake. The water coming out of the lake, through 2 different filters, had a slight rotten fish taste. Recommend bringing something to mix in to cover the flavor. In all this was a great overnight trip and a good early season trail to stratch the legs. The trail is the best part about the trip!
