Falls View Canyon Professional Review and Guide

"From a popular campground off a busy highway, escape the commotion in a hidden little canyon along
the Big Quilcene River. Enjoy the serenading rapids and in springtime a floral show of blossoming lilies, honeysuckle, and rhododendrons. And as the canyon name suggests, there’s a waterfall too.

Plunging from the get-go, Trail No. 868 loses nearly 200 feet of elevation in 0.1 mile. Frothing white water comes into view as the trail leads to a ledge alongside the thundering Big Quilcene River. Here, deep within the chasm, the river’s roar amplifies, ricocheting off the guarding walls."

Nice little trail. Short, flat trail to the falls overlook. As the other reviewer said, the initial part down to the river is steep for a short period. The trail along the river is up-and-down insignificantly. Very quiet, though close to the road. I'd actually give it 3.5 stars, not 3.

Great trail. A little steep getting down but well-maintained. Once you get down to the river, it's an easy walk by the river. Great swimming holes!
