Dirty Face Ridge

Dirty Face Ridge Professional Review and Guide

"The Dirty Face Ridge hike to Mount Townsend is steep and has a long driving approach, so most hikers shun it for the two easier routes to the summit. That means you’ll have plenty of solitude along with the copious good views that help ease the uphill pain.

A succession of viewpoints follow as the trail rapidly gains elevation, heading for the ridge crest. Enjoy precious glimpses of the Silver and Copper creek valleys below. Buckhorn Mountain, with its twin-peaked horns, guards the head of the emerald valleys; and Gray Wolf Ridge, with its pack of peaks, paces the western horizon."

Not another person in sight all the way to to top. Trail head was marked as Little Q, but not difficult to locate. Strenuous for sure! Joins with a popular trail at the top, but there is plenty of room to spread out.
