The Cove and Salt Creek County Park

The Cove and Salt Creek County Park Professional Review and Guide

"Even though I obviously haven’t checked out all county parks in the country, Salt Creek County Park has to be one of the nicest. Though well known by locals, very few visitors to the region have ever even heard about the park, and fewer still take the time to see it for themselves. That is a big mistake because there is a lot to see and do here, including spotting the dozens of deer that often graze in a large meadow in the middle of the park; staying overnight at the very comfortable campground; having lunch at the park’s superb picnic areas; taking in the excellent views across the Strait of Juan de Fuca; exploring the beaches of Crescent Bay (one of the best on the Olympic Peninsula); photographing the small islands and offshore rocks that provide plenty of scenic interest; and, perhaps best of all, checking out the extensive area of tidepools that offer some of the best of this sport you will find anywhere.

This spot is not only very pretty, TRAIL 19 Northwest Region: Lake Crescent and Sol Duc Areas The Cove and Salt Creek County Park 168 Top Trails Olympic National Park & Vicinity but there is also an excellent chance that you will have it all to yourself."
