Salt Creek Recreation Area

Salt Creek Recreation Area Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Tongue Point, just west of the campground, juts into the Strait of Juan de Fuca toward Vancouver Island, about 12 miles away. (It’s a marine sanctuary. Boating is allowed but not advised because it’s so shallow. Kayaks and paddleboards do fine at medium to high tides.)

Nearby, Agate Bay is named for the treasures that can be found on local beaches. This 196-acre seaside campground is one of only a few on the strait, and is a good stopover for people driving around the Olympic Peninsula."
