Mount Angeles

Mount Angeles Professional Review and Guide

"Although little elevation gain occurs along this route, lots of work is necessary for snowshoers planning to play here. The trail starts high and stays high as it skirts steep ridges and traverses around the flanks of towering mountains. But with the hard work comes ample rewards.

Stunning views of Elk Mountain, Maiden Peak, Blue Mountain, and the deep Cox Creek Valley lie off to the southeast. Above, Mount Angeles and Rocky Peak loom large. And all around the trail are picturesque scenes of winter loveliness- open meadows, frosted evergreens cradled by rolling snowdrifts, and icicles hanging like crystal fingers off rocky ledges on the mountain face."
