Klahhane Ridge Loop

Klahhane Ridge Loop Professional Review and Guide

"A 12.5-mile backpack loop from Heart o' the Hills. This trail offers a rigorous loop into the craggy country just south of Port Angeles. It can also be combined with the Mount Angeles Trail for two different point-to-point day hikes from Hurricane Ridge Road to Heart o’ the Hills.

Persistent snowfields on the western slope of Mount Angeles pose an extreme travel hazard until mid-July. The trail begins in a dark forest of cedars on the lowlands bordering Lake Dawn. A lush growth of ferns and mosses grows between the massive boles, highlighted by the feathery fronds of fern moss."
