Hurricane Hill

Hurricane Hill Professional Review and Guide

"Hurricane Ridge is the preeminent destination for folks who want to see
the beauty of Olympic National Park any time of the year. When winter
rolls in and the broad, sweeping meadows of the ridge are blanketed in
snow and the high jagged peaks of the Bailey Range swaddled in white,
the area is unbelievably beautiful."

this is a very will maintained trail for snowshoeing, with beautiful scenery. The final leg of this hike can be a bit grueling but the rest is quite easy. This can get busy on weekends, do it early
It's a rare occasion when you have a sunny week end in January in the Northwest. The weather was perfect for this trip. The view were great you can see Rainer and Baker in the distance. Since the weather has been warm and there has been no new snow recently, The snow was icey. The rangers recommended that people stay on the ridge rather then to the west side of the ridge as described in the trail descritpion. That made for several steep up and down slopes both going and coming. But it was worth the work.
