Porcupine Creek

Porcupine Creek Professional Review and Guide

"The long Ingalls Creek Valley forms both the southern boundary of the Stuart Range and a reasonable winter access route to this area. Ingalls Creek receives many tributaries from flanking mountainsides.

One of these drainages, Porcupine Creek, is noteworthy because it not only offers good skiing, but also tops out in an interesting place, Colchuck Col. Take ice ax and crampons. Difficulties: High avalanche potential; routefinding required; long hike; permit / fee area."
