Pacific Crest Trail - Mount Rainier Section

Pacific Crest Trail - Mount Rainier Section Professional Review and Guide

"A three-night backpacking trip mostly through forest; a portion of the Pacific Crest Trail follows a ridge and passes many lakes. From the small parking lot, cross to the east side of the road and walk north along Highway 123 a few paces to the Laughingwater trailhead to the right (east). The trail
starts uphill and does not relent until 0.25 mile from the lakes.

A marshy pool about 2 miles into the hike marks the end of the switchbacks. From this point the trail heads due east until you reach Three Lakes. The last 2.0 miles before the lakes are at a steep pitch, and the sources for water on this section of the hike are nil in late summer."
