Blackjack Ridge Trail Professional Reviews and Guides

"A high ridge hike leading to Cradle Lake. culminating in 7,016-foot Highchair Mountain. Blackjack Ridge is traversed by a rugged 8-mile trail that climbs nearly 4,000 feet out of Icicle Canyon and maintains an elevation of over 6,000 feet for several miles, providing wide-open views up Jack Creek, across to Jack Ridge, Cashmere Mountain, Mount Stuart, and other surrounding peaks.

The trail leads to a junction with Snowall–Cradle Lake Trail, from where Cradle Lake is only 0.5 mile away. This hike can be done as part of a loop including Cradle Lake and Jack Creek. The trail is not popular because it is steep, strenuous, and dry, and literally disappears in several places in the upper meadow basins. It is not recommended for any but the most experienced wilderness hikers."
