The Summit Biking Center

The Summit Biking Center Professional Review and Guide

"Billed by the Summit ownership as the mountain bike center with something for everyone, local off-road cyclists know the area is Washington’s mecca for downhill riders. True, there are miles of trails around the beautiful Twin Lakes and Mount Catherine. And for cross-country riders in search of a strenuous workout, there is plenty of napalm-burning, lung-busting climbing.

The main attraction, however, is the DH circuit of trails that are punishing and unforgiving to flesh, bone, aluminum, carbon fiber, chrome moly, steal, titanium, and anything else bicycle engineers can throw at the mountain. Former home to previous NORBA and World Cup downhill events, The Summit was considered one of the most vicious courses in the world. The pros and local riders know it isn’t an exaggeration. Although the ride up the chairlift is relaxing, for the average mountain biker there is no easy way down. Trail surface: Singletrack and fire roads."

The biking center at the summit is closed. The trails are still open but unfortunately there is no more biking center.
